Our Heritage
From humble beginnings…
Hillbillie Bows began simply around Danielle Hill's farmhouse kitchen table in 2019. Whilst the business may have grown, the ethos and inspiration remain the same. Every item is lovingly handmade, still in the farmhouse but now in a studio, and many are inspired by our rural way of life- our Farm, the countryside and nature surrounding us in the Mid Wales hills.
The very first Hillbillie Bow was created for Danielle’s eldest daughter and following requests for more from fellow mums our ‘cottage industry’ idea began. Danielle tentatively branched out to attend local village shows and then launched their first self built website in March 2020 when the covid pandemic put a stop to selling at shows and gatherings.
with rural roots…
Danielle lives and farms with her Husband, Tom, and their three young daughters. When not in the studio she can be found on the farm and is just as happy mucking out the cow sheds as sitting behind the sewing machine.
They farm a flock of sheep and rear hundreds of baby calves each year with plenty of help from their enthusiastic sheepdog! They have also recently added a mini flock of chickens to the mix.
… and on to bold ideas.
Following the success of the first website, Danielle took the huge decision to leave her employed job as a auditor to focus on Hillbillie Bows. She has since attended numerous large shows and events, launched a new, and much improved, website and has even bigger plans for the future. Watch this space!
